futurama [ carnivore ]	1:17a	DVD Question Bad news, nobody: my DVDs are scratched beyond repair and I must replace them. I bought each season the day it came out, so I'm wondering if anyone who bought/viewed a more recent press of seasons 1 or 2 can help me... originally, these seasons didn't include the "play all episodes" feature on each disc that the third and fourth seasons had. futurama [ skelephant ]	8:33p	oh my yes Hi everyone. I'm a long time lurker, but I love Futurama and I love this community as well. Let us cavort like the greeks of old! So here's a Futurama-related story. I have a friend who is actually Jamaican, but has never watched Futurama and doesn't really understand what it is, etc. He's put up with me making jokes he doesn't get about him being a 37th level bureaucrat and limbo champion for years now, and in retrospect I'm really lucky he's of a laid-back disposition because anyone else would have probably stopped being my friend in light of such obnoxious abuse. It's only recently though, that my blatant theft of Futurama jokes has had some negative repercussions. Case in point, when I said to him: "Jamaican? I thought you were some sort of outerspace potato man." Apparently that's offensive! So just a heads up to everyone, there are times when quoting Futurama is, in fact, inappropriate. Like at church, or funerals, or when touchy subjects like ethnicity are involved I guess. I know, I'm as shocked as you are. Current Mood: amused (25 Comments |Comment on this)

futurama [ shycomputerguy ]	10:48a	I.C. Weiner So I was watching the episode last night on Comedy Central, Jurassic Bark, and I was wondering about something. It may have been said in the commentary, but I generally do not watch the commentaries. I know, banish me from the community, I'm a wicked and evil fan! Anyway, in the original episode, and the episode last night, Fry delivers a pizza to the Cryogenics Lab to one I.C. Weiner. Now, do you take that name to mean I See Weiner, or Icy Weiner? Both seem valid, since pranks/jokes centered around I.C. generally mean I See [insert funny word] (similar to I.P. Freely). However, the pizza is sent to a Cryogenics Lab where they freeze stuff, hence the possibility of Icy. I tend to think it rather refers to Icy since Zoidberg claims in the Anthology of Interest I, to be "Icy Whatever" to get the pizza. Of course the writers probably chose I.C. Weiner for the double meanings since they figured some people would probably interpret it to mean I See, while others would think it would mean Icy. Your thoughts? (16 Comments |Comment on this)

futurama [ whitelabeldemo ]	5:53p	Season 2 Episode 5 - 'I second that emotion' In the scene where they gather round to hear the legend of El-Juba Neebre (spelling it as I hear it heh) you can blatantly see Leelas parents in the crowd and Leela looking at them.
